Sustainability

For a sustainably planned event to be successful, everyone involved needs to pull together. The Congress Park Hanau offers you very good conditions for your environmentally conscious and climate-friendly event.

Consistently sustainable

Ecological, social, fair

The CPH's employees ensure in many places that ecological and social aspects are integrated into the operational processes. We consistently record CO2 emissions during business trips. We only use recycled paper for our printed media, if material needs to be printed at all. And coffee at the CPH is of course fair trade coffee and comes from environmentally friendly cultivation. We will gradually be including our suppliers in the sustainability process through sustainable purchasing guidelines. We want to trigger a domino effect that will develop in the region.

Membership

Nachhaltig vernetzt Hanau und Region

Achieving more together: Congress Park Hanau is a member of networks and initiatives that focus on sustainable work and business. Everyone benefits from the combined and diverse know-how.

fairpflichtet — an initiative of the EVVC and GCB industry associations

In April 2013, Congress Park Hanau joined thefairpflichtet initiative. The fairpflichtet sustainability code is the result of a dialogue forum of the event industry. The participating companies voluntarily undertake to accept and implement the sustainability code on the basis of the guidelines and the specific guiding principles and to continuously strive to meet the requirements arising from it. It is the intrinsic task of the participating companies to define goals and measures and to continuously check them for change and development potentials. The final assessment is up to the companies themselves. The results are recorded in a progress report that is to be published annually.

“Sustainably connected” is the motto of many parties in Hanau and the region. For several years now, schools, associations and companies have been committed to a sustainable future in the town of Hanau and its surroundings. The parties work together to make sustainability visible. Various projects of the participating partners show which precious and sustainable treasures can be found in Hanau and in the region.

Checklists

Those who organise events are often under time pressure. Many things have to be done at the same time at short notice. In doing so, environmental criteria and sustainability aspects quickly fade into the background. A guideline from the Federal Environment Agency is intended to help ensure that essential criteria for the sustainable organisation of events can be taken into account even with a small time budget. The guide contains useful checklists, worksheets and overviews of eco-label products.
